What E09 means
Bosch lists E09 as a heat-pump internal-heater fault/error. It is a broad appliance diagnosis and can involve the heater, heat-pump assembly or electronics depending on the E-Nr.
Primary reference: Bosch Dishwasher Error Codes.
Safe checks
- Record E09 and the model/E-Nr.
- With no signs of damage, reset the breaker for 30 seconds, which is Bosch's stated first step.
- Run no more than one test programme. If E09 returns, stop using heated cycles.
- Contact Bosch or a qualified appliance technician. Do not access the heater, pump or wiring.
When to stop
Stop immediately if the dishwasher leaks, smells scorched, trips power or leaves water unexpectedly hot. Heater work is not a live-appliance DIY task.
