Using this website

Error Code Daily is a static reference website. It does not offer visitor accounts, comments, uploads or a checkout. The former WordPress text describing those features has been retired.

Search

The guide-index search filters the article directory in your browser. Search terms can appear in the page URL, including when you arrive from the homepage search form. As with other requested URLs, they may therefore appear in browser history and hosting access logs. Do not put personal or sensitive information into the search box.

Technical requests and hosting

Visiting a page sends normal web-request information, such as your IP address, browser information and requested URL, to the services delivering the website. Hosting and security providers may process technical logs. This site does not state a fixed provider retention period.

Optional Google Analytics

Error Code Daily participates in Sentinel Network Analytics. If you choose Allow analytics, Google Analytics receives page views, time-visible or interaction-based visit events, and clicks on Amazon links. These events include the website hostname, page path and title; Amazon-click events include the destination and link label. Google also processes technical information needed to provide analytics and can set analytics cookies. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in this site’s tag configuration. Your analytics choice

Analytics is off until you allow it. Declining does not prevent you from reading guides or following links. Use Analytics choices in the footer to change your decision. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under ecd-analytics-consent. Declining stops this site’s Analytics collection and removes its standard Google Analytics cookies; it does not erase data previously received by Google. Your choice applies to this browser and hostname.

The guide-index search does not set cookies or save search terms to local storage. Hosting security features and third-party destinations may have their own practices.

Manufacturer support pages and Amazon links lead to separately operated websites. Their privacy and cookie practices apply when you visit them. Amazon shopping links contain an affiliate tracking identifier that tells Amazon the referral came from this site. Amazon may use its own cookies and tracking when you visit.
