Bosch Dishwasher E15 Error: Water in the Base (Leak Protection)
Short answer: E15 on a Bosch dishwasher means water has collected in the base and the leakage protection has switched on (E3100 on newer displays, or a flashing Active light on some models). Bosch's instruction is to turn off the water supply and contact support, not to reset and keep running cycles.
What E15 means
Bosch says E15 means the safety switch detected water in the base and activated leakage protection. Bosch's dedicated E15 guidance is explicit: turn off the water inflow and contact Bosch support.

Safe checks
- Stop the cycle and turn off the dishwasher's water supply.
- Keep the appliance off. Do not tilt it, remove the base or dry the pan as a shortcut.
- Check only for visible water at the floor or nearby hose connections without pulling the machine out under tension.
- Contact Bosch or an authorized/qualified appliance technician with the E-Nr and E15 code.
When to stop
E15 is a leak-protection event, not a reset challenge. Do not run another cycle until the source of the water and the safety system have been assessed.
