What E24 means
Bosch says E24 means the dishwasher is not draining properly, commonly because the drain filter is blocked. Bosch also lists a kinked hose, pump-cover issue, siphon connection or an unremoved garbage-disposal knockout plug as possible causes.
Primary reference: Bosch E24 support page.
Safe checks
- Switch off the dishwasher and let hot water cool.
- Clean the removable filter using the exact manual. Check the pump-cover area only as far as the manual shows and remove loose debris carefully.
- Inspect the visible drain hose for kinks. If connected to a disposer, have the installer or qualified person verify the knockout plug was removed.
- Reset the dishwasher using the manual. If E24 remains, contact Bosch service.
When to stop
Do not disconnect a drain hose with standing water unless you can contain it safely and the manual authorizes the step. Sharp debris, leaks or repeat E24 are service boundaries.
