What E05 means
Bosch describes E05 as a wash-arm diverter circuit fault in the main control board. The message concerns the diverter circuit; it does not prove that the spray arm, motor or board alone needs replacement.
Primary reference: Bosch US dishwasher error-code index.
Safe checks
- Photograph E05 and find the model/E-Nr on the door edge.
- Check only the visible spray arms for obvious dishware obstruction and make sure they can turn freely by hand with the appliance off.
- Reset the breaker for 30 seconds if safe, as Bosch recommends for this fault.
- If E05 returns, stop and request service. Do not remove the pump, control board or wiring harness.
When to stop
A repeated E05, unusual electrical noise, a leak or a tripped breaker needs professional diagnosis. A clean spray arm does not clear an electronics fault.
