Samsung Washer DC or DC1 Code: Door Open or Door Switch
Short answer: On the Samsung WF45T6000A* washer, DC means the door is open: close it firmly and press Start/Pause to resume. DC1 means "check the door switch": power off for 2-3 minutes and try again, then call Samsung service if it returns.
What DC means
For the WF45T6000A* family, Samsung’s manual defines DC as the door being open. It is different from DC1, which asks you to check the door switch. Samsung’s broader support page also warns that similar labels can vary by model, so use the model manual.

Safe checks
- Pause the washer and wait for the drum to stop.
- Check that no fabric is caught between the rubber seal and door glass. Remove only loose, visible laundry.
- Close the door firmly and press Start/Pause to resume.
- If the door is damaged, will not latch or DC returns, power off and arrange service. Do not defeat the latch.
When to stop
Do not pull the door open while the drum is moving or force it against a locked cycle. Water, a damaged hinge or a sharp broken latch is a service boundary.
Parts You Might Need
- Samsung washer door gasket by exact model, if the seal is visibly damaged
- Replacement Samsung washer door latch, only after diagnosis
Return to the Samsung WF45T6000A* code hub, then compare DC1 if the door appears closed but is not detected.
