LG Dryer nP Error: No Power at the Heater
Short answer: nP on an LG dryer means the dryer detects no current at the heater, which LG says is usually a home wiring problem. Check that the dryer's double-pole breaker is fully on. Outlet, cord and wiring checks are a job for a licensed electrician.
What nP means
LG says nP means the dryer detects no current at the heater. LG points to the home's electrical wiring as the usual cause, so the dryer may tumble but not heat. LG's list also includes PS, which means improper voltage in the power cord, possibly from reversed wires at the terminal block.

Safe checks
- Check the dryer's breaker at the panel. An electric dryer uses a double-pole breaker; switch it fully off, then fully on.
- Make sure the plug is fully seated in the outlet and the dryer is not on an extension cord or adapter.
- If the dryer was just installed or moved, ask the installer to recheck the power-cord connection at the terminal block.
- If nP returns, have a licensed electrician check the outlet and circuit.
When to stop
Do not open the terminal block or test a 240-volt outlet yourself. Stop if you see scorch marks, melted plastic or a loose outlet, and call an electrician.
