LG Washer IE Error: Not Filling With Water

Short answer: IE on an LG front-load washer means the tub is not filling with enough water. Check that both taps are fully open, the inlet hoses are not kinked or frozen, and the inlet screens are not blocked. LG lists E02 and E10 as the same message on other displays.

What IE means

IE is LG's inlet or no-water-supply message: the washer did not receive enough water within the expected time. A closed tap, kinked hose, blocked inlet screen or frozen supply can all stop filling; the code alone does not prove that the inlet valve has failed.

Use the WM3400CW support page and LG's front-load error-code guide for the manufacturer boundary.

Safe checks

  1. Pause the washer and check that both household supply taps are open.
  2. Inspect the visible inlet hoses behind the machine for kinks, crushing or a loose connection. Do not pull the washer forward against a taut hose.
  3. Turn the taps off before disconnecting a hose. If you are comfortable doing so, inspect the small inlet screens for obvious sediment and refit everything without forcing the fittings.
  4. Restore the supply, run a short fill and watch for leaks. In freezing conditions, thaw the supply safely with warm—not boiling—water.

When to stop

Close the taps and arrange service for a leaking connection, a damaged hose, no water from the household tap, repeated IE with good supply flow, or any need to open the cabinet. Never energize a washer with water on the floor.

Parts You Might Need

  • Replacement inlet hose pair, if a hose is kinked, cracked or leaking
  • WM3400CW water-inlet valve, only after the model-specific part lookup or technician diagnosis

Return to the LG WM3400CW code hub, or read OE if the tub fills but will not drain.
