LG Washer CE Error: Motor Over-Current
Short answer: CE on an LG front-load washer means over-current in the motor circuit. Unplug the washer for a reset, try one empty, supervised cycle, and stop and call service if CE returns.
What CE means
LG describes CE as over-current in the motor circuit. A short, loose connection, ground fault or power event can cause it. This is an electrical service boundary, not permission to test live wiring or assume that a motor is the failed part.
Use the exact WM3400CW support page and LG's front-load error-code guide.
Safe checks
- Switch the washer off, close the water taps and unplug it. Keep the plug and floor dry.
- After the short reset interval LG describes, restore power and try one empty, supervised cycle.
- If CE returns, stop. Note whether it appeared at startup or during spin and give that information to LG or a qualified appliance technician.
When to stop
Stop immediately for a tripped breaker, smoke, burning smell, hot plug, damaged cord or repeated CE. Do not remove panels, bridge a connector, use a multimeter on energized wiring or continue cycling the washer.
Parts You Might Need
- WM3400CW power cord, only if the original cord is visibly damaged and the exact rating and part are confirmed
- WM3400CW motor harness or motor part, only after qualified electrical diagnosis
Return to the LG WM3400CW code hub, or read LE for a motor-rotation message.
